“The brain remembers an insult more than it does a compliment”
The threat system is the most dominant system in the brain, such that the memory of an insult is retained longer than a compliment. Unfortunately, the brain will remember a negative thing more. Some ways to manage this is to work on our soothing system, through meditation and compassion-focused therapy. These were some of the topics discussed during Dr. Rony Berger’s 5-day workshop last February 1-5, 2016.
