Finding Calm in Chaos – Mindfulness for Adults

Saturdays

November 18, 25, and Dec, 2, 9, 2017

What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a skill that opens our potential for growth by enhancing:

SELF-AWARENESS. Learn to focus your attention inward to explore your unique mental habits with clarity. Develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of yourself by rediscovering another way to relate to yourself and the world around you with openness, curiosity and kindness. With greater self-awareness, you can bring your best self forward and respond in the best way possible to the experiences you face.

STRESS MANAGEMENT through SELF-MANAGEMENT. Mindfulness helps build the skill to manage your own thoughts and emotions so you can respond to life’s demands and challenges with more flexibility, ease, and confidence.

What makes Ateneo Bulatao Mindfulness programs different from other mindfulness programs?

We offer evidence-based, effective, and integrative mind-body based training that teaches another way to approach one’s experiences with calm and openness, especially in stressful and challenging times.

The Ateneo Bulatao Center is the first center in the country certified to implement mindfulness-based cognitive interventions by the Centre for Mindfulness Studies, based in Toronto, Canada.

What can I learn from Ateneo Bulatao Center Mindfulness programs?

The program, Finding Calm in Chaos, is composed of experience-based learning activities and theory-based discussion and inquiry. Your personal experiences will help enrich your understanding of mindfulness methods, ideas, theories, and practices in class. This way, you can tailor how mindfulness can best help you in your life.

The skills you will learn in the program are:

  • To focus and direct attention to what is happening inside of you (unconscious thoughts, emotions, and body sensations)
  • To catch and notice your unique and unconscious mental habits and discover alternative ways of thinking and doing
  • To be empowered through learning to stay focused and grounded, maintaining calm even during stress and difficulties
  • To learn to skillfully reduce the intensity of stressful and challenging thoughts and emotions
  • To recognize early warning signs of stress and creatively plan healthy responses
  • To be kinder and gentler with yourself

Be part of a growing community that fosters an open, accepting, and supportive learning environment! This is an invitation for you to be engaged fully and to reflect on your own experiences as you learn and discover about mindfulness in a nurturing and safe environment.
